My kids are still little, so I look for crafts that are simple yet have things that they can participate in doing. So this little craft is PERFECT for us. And it makes a great Easter gift! And an added little perk is that my children love to watch their craft grow.
MATERIALS:
- Any small flower pot. The one I used is simply $1 at Michael's and gives the kids something to color to decorate the pot. But you can get as creative as you want, paint, stickers, whatever!
- Two small green pom poms and one medium or large green pom pom
- Two googly eyes
- Glue
- One pipe cleaner
- Potting soil
- Any flowers that are good for containers
DIRECTIONS:
- Decorate the pot
- Glue the two googly eyes on the large pom pom
- Fold the pipe cleaner in half and then twist the two tops to make antenna's.
- Glue the folded part of the pipe cleaner on the other side of the large pom pom (opposite the googly eyes)
- Glue a small pom on large one. (on the side of the antenna).
- Glue the other small pom onto the first small pom.
- Glue the caterpillar on the edge of the pot
- Fill the pot with the soil and follow instructions on the seed pack....you probably won't need the whole pack.
