There is something special about kids and their dog. Ever since we got Max, my kids have loved him absolutely unconditionally, even as me and my husband got frustrated at his puppy antics. I thought that I was training my dog, but the more I watch them, I think that it is really the kids that are training him. He has become more gentle, less antsy, more calm and more easy going. I love to watch my youngest play tug of war with him. He holds on to his end ...

Right after the holidays there is a sort of let down. The doldroms set in. The toys are BOORRING and if you hear the theme song to the Wonder Pets one more time, you may lose your mind. What a great time to gather the kiddos to make the birdies some yummy (and adorable) treats.

What you will need to make around two 2.5 - 3 inch biscuits:

1 tablespoon flour

Stuffed Green Pepper Soup

Here's an old family favorite at our house! Perfect for a chilly winter day!
1 pound lean ground beef
1 small onion chopped
3 large green peppers chopped
1 can diced tomatoes
1 cup uncooked rice
1 TBS brown sugar
1 10 1/2 can beef broth
1 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp. basil
2 cloves garlic minced
1 1/2 cups water
salt and pepper to taste

Brown onions and ground beef in a stockpot. Add rest of ingredients and cook for several hours.
Serve with crusty bread ...

Very few things in this world are one hundred percent perfectly rosy. Especially in the world of diets. I LOVE the Nutrisystem program. And I feel very positive that this may finally be what keeps me from uping my “goal weight.”

If you had been a settler headed West to homestead in Colorado or Wyoming the face of civilization would have worn a U.S. Army uniform. After the Civil War, Congress formed 6 all African American Army units were formed, all served west of the Mississippi. Their job was to protect settlers and put into place infrastructure that communities would need during the westward expansion. These brave men were called Buffalo Soldiers. No one really knows how they got this name. This is an opportunity to learn about Buffalo Soldiers and see how he worked and helped settlers going west.

Baby Storytimes introduce the sounds and rhythms of language to our youngest library users ages 0-2. Nursery rhymes, songs, and the simplest of stories build a foundation for a lifelong love of books and reading. Parents and caregivers should plan on participating with their children in these Storytimes. Reservations are required.
