As a parent it is often hard to make time to hang out with your spouse, in the Kindred house this is something that rarely happens, we are lucky if we get a date night once a month. Yes we are extremely busy with the kids activities and work, that it’s not always on the top of our priority list. This is something that we are trying to make a priority as we do enjoy time together and it is important to reconnect.
When I was recently planning a date night for us, the thought came to mind why don’t we go and stay at a local hotel. We have grandparents that can keep the kids for less than 24 hours and it will give us an opportunity to reconnect.TheDoubletree by Hilton off Iliff and 225 came to mind immediately. It is tucked back off the road, it’s just far enough to get away for the evening, at the same time close enough if something comes up. It has been awhile since I was last at the hotel and it was for an event, so an overnight did not occur.

When we arrived the main lobby was breathtaking and inviting us to get away from our life as parents. This is much needed as we pour so much into our children. The front desk greeted us with amazing hospitality, warm cookies and fruit infused water. We got checked in and visited our room to get ready for dinner. We were going to eat in the hotel restaurant and have a few cocktails before we turned in for the evening.

The room was modern, roomy and designed to feel at home while staying. The hotel offered a pool, fitness center, mini store and amazing staff. One of our favorite spots was at the top of our floor looking down through the amazing lights, it was mesmerizing.

Jackdaw was the in house restaurant, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Jackdaw is known for their Irish cuisine. The drinks were divine and the food was mouth watering. We look forward to heading back or happy hour soon, to enjoy another Jackdaw drink and the brussel sprouts appetizer.
The next time you are thinking what are we going to do for date night, how about a little get away at the DoubleTree by Hilton and enjoy some time to reconnect with your spouse.
