Trying some new breakfast items in the house and came across some recipes to make overnight oats! Oatmeal I enjoy in the winter, however it is not favorable in the summer months. I redid these recipes to cater them to my Gluten Free Lifestyle, wanting to eat a little cleaner and to have a little bit of variety.
The main ingredients that you will need just to do the basic overnight oats is as follows;
Steel Cut Oats (I use Gluten Free)
Honey
Almond Milk
Greek Yogurt
Vanilla
Then you can add fresh cut fruit, jam or just sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon.
I got a case of the Mason Jars, many of the stores now have them on sale for jamming season. Make sure to get the lids so you can close them overnight.
The measurements I use are what fills me up for the morning, you can adjust as needed. Put the following into the Mason Jar;
1/3 cup of Oats
1/4 cup of Almond Milk (I like the Vanilla)
1/4 cup of Greek Yogurt
1/2 tbsp of Honey
1/2 tbsp of Vanilla
Stir this all up! Then you can add blueberries, sliced peaches, strawberry jam or anything else you can think of to add some flavoring. Put the lid in and place in the fridge over night. The next morning it's a delicious morning treat to start your day!
