Grocery shopping is changing, who would have thought that you would be able to order your groceries online from your computer or even your phone, pick a time frame that you would like to pick it up and then drive to a reserved spot to get your ordered loaded in your car. We were given the opportunity to try out this great online shopping and pick-up through Wal-mart and to try some new ice cream flavors. We were a little hesitant because even though this is new and all the rave how would it work for us.
We have jumped out of our comfort zone, created a Wal-mart account and decided to place an online order for some new ice cream. This part was fairly easy now onto the shopping. If you shop like us we know where everything is in our local store and sometimes like to shop by going up and down every aisle. Shopping online is definitely different. We knew what kind of ice cream we wanted to try out so we just put the keywords in the search box to pick up all the different flavors (i.e. Good Humor, Breyers, Popsicle, Magnum and Klondike). Then a list of different flavors would come up and then we would add what we wanted to the cart. Wal-mart requires a $30 minimum to do a pick-up order, no worries $30 in ice cream is totally possible. We put together an order around noon and the earliest pick-up time was between 5-6 p.m., this wasn’t a bad turn around to place an order and then plan to pick-up in an hour window.
Ice cream is a favorite around our house, we are usually a vanilla ice cream sprinkles and sometimes a little caramel kinda a family. Once again we got to try some new ice cream and step out of our box. On this shopping trip, we got to try New Popsicle fruit bars, Klondike Bars, Breyers 2 in 1 (Oreo and Chips Ahoy!), Magnum tubs and Good Humor bars. This was like bringing an ice cream truck to our freezer.
We did it we tried every one of these new ice creams and have to say they were all delicious. My personal favorite was the Magnum Tubs, these tubs have the harden chocolate around the ice cream and mixed in it was delicious. Chris and Madie loved the Klondike bars, they couldn’t get enough. Abbi said she like them all and Cody love the 2 in 1 Breyers ice cream said that it was the best of both worlds.
The Kindred Family experience with both online grocery shopping and pick-up is a double thumbs up, the personal ice cream truck in our freezer was a great added bonus as well!
