Materials needed:
- Brown construction paper (or a toilet paper roll cut in half so it is shorter)
- Googly eyes
- Yellow chenille stems (pipe cleaners)
- Red Chenille stem
- Assorted color chenille stems
- Glue
- Scissors
Instructions:
- Cut a piece of brown construction paper so that it is about 1.5 inches wide and 4 inches long.
- Roll construction paper and glue ends together to form a ring. Or just use half an empty toilet paper roll.
- Cut the yellow chenille stem in half. Curl around pencil to make a curly-que, and pull off so the shape sticks.
- Cut a ½ inch piece of red chenille stem. Cut in half and stick through the third rung down on the curled yellow chenille stem.
- Glue two googly eyes above the red beak
- Take five assorted chenille stems. Fold in half. Twist the bottoms of the stems together. Roll bottoms twice around pencil. Pull gently off pencil
- Twist the chenille stem so that you can “clip” it on the rolled construction paper with the rounded part pointing up. (a dot of hot glue will help keep them on the paper)
- Repeat for all. Use the outer most stems to balance the turkey. They should rest on the table.
- Clip the bottom of the yellow head on the brown roll as well.
- Roll up your thanksgiving napkins and place inside!
