Macaroni Organization: Whose Shirt is This?

By Kyrie Collins, Highlands Ranch-Parker-Castle Rock-Lone Tree Publisher August 29, 2014
Since I have two boys who are just a couple of years apart, my younger one wears mostly hand-me-downs. He thinks the sun rises and sets with his older brother, so at this point he gets pretty excited to wear these clothes. I have found that the size on the label doesn't always match and sometimes I forget which items have been passed down.

I've started using a "dot" system on the label to help me keep track of which clothes belong to which child, and also to note which clothes have been completely outgrown and are ready to be donated or tagged for a consignment sale. The great thing about this system is that it would work even if I had four boys ... just keep adding dots (as if an item of clothing would last through four boys!).

Here's how the system works:

● One dot means it belongs to my older son
● ● Two means it belongs to my younger son
● ● ● Tag it for a consignment sale
● ● ● ● Donate it
