Welcome to Aurora Macaroni Kid!

Making hard changes easier

By Vicki Little January 26, 2011

Some of you may remember that I decided against any set resolutions this New Year. However, I have been "gently encouraged", a.k.a told you better do this, by doctors into changing some habits. The beloved soda's of mine....apparently I have to cut down to less than one a day. Along with the other suggestions, the Dr. actually made one that didn't make me internally groan while outwardly saying "sure, I can do that." He suggested I simply walk a half hour a day. Doesn't even need to be at one time. That sounds MUCH better to me than "you must participate in aerobic activity three times a week for an hour each time." Since it has been pretty chilly lately, and with the work schedule I have, I am not able to get out as much as I would like. I did, however, find something even better. Dancing with my kids. They turn their little kid radio's up way high and we dance our little tooshies off to all their favorites. They definitely outlast me, but I get some great activity in and have the best time doing it as well! That added with my daughter's mommy and me gymnastics once a week are just what the doctor ordered, and things I don't consider exercise because I am having just way too much fun! What are some of the ways that you get your exercise in while playing with your kids? I would love to hear in the comments below!
