There always seems to be a small window of beauty in the trees, and we are smack dab in the center of that window right now. The leaves are changing colors, and walking the dogs is filled with the pretty sights of reds, yellows and oranges. The sunflower that my son stopped to smell everyday on our way to school has unfortunately fallen and now lays on the ground. Which means instead of smelling it, he and his sister jump over it every day. My husband is starting to talk about Frito Chili Pie (yes, recipe coming) and beef stew. And the kids are changing their minds daily on what they should be for Halloween. I would like to know when my opinion on that particular subject stopped mattering, but I suppose it was inevitable. I am planning on pretending to hate the costume that I love the most just to see if the reverse psychology works. I'm pretty sure this is going to be the last gory-free Halloween with my son.
