Welcome to Aurora Macaroni Kid!

A letter from the Publisher

By Vicki Little September 12, 2012
Though the day has passed, I still want to take a moment to remember 9-11. The day, the people, the victims and the heroes will never be forgotten.

I took for granted the dry days. The days where I got to to watch the rain through my window while I stayed cozy in my pajamas and slippers. I woke up an hour early today, heard the patter on the roof and noticed how dark it was in the room and snuggled deeper into bed and happily slipped back to sleep...until the alarm went off.

It wasn't too bad. I slapped on some raincoats and walked my son to school. He did as kids do and stuck out his tongue to catch the raindrops. We sang some rainy day songs and we enjoyed our wet walk together. I rushed home to drive my daughter to preschool...and she also stuck her tongue out to enjoy the raindrops. I headed home to coffee and some quiet. Way too quiet. It was the first time both kids were at school and I had nothing to do. It took me a a few minutes to get used to it, and then I pulled out a book and ENJOYED it!

When I was driving home, it seemed as if this one significant change in temperature made the whole world start changing colors as well. I don't know if the gray skies just intensified the oranges that I hadn't noticed before or if Fall is truly on it's way! Either way, I hope you enjoyed your rainy day!
