Happy Mother's Day!

A heartfelt letter from your publisher

By Vicki Little May 9, 2012
"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." - Elizabeth Stone

I always knew I wanted to be a mom. There was never a question in my mind. And from the second I saw those very first two pink lines, I knew my life was changed forever. I have never once taken for granted the blessing in my belly and in my heart. I did not realize how true that quote above was going to be, though. I never knew that every birthday would bring both a feeling of extreme pride yet extreme sadness as my babies grew. I never knew saying bye at a preschool door would throw me into tears as I sat in my car in the parking lot just waiting for the class to be over. I never thought that saying goodbye to that last diaper would make me so nostalgic I would go through the baby books. And believe it or not, I never knew that I would one day think back to those sleepless nights and miss those bonding moments. I can say with confidence that my children have made me a better person.

I want to wish all of you mom's out there a very very Happy Mother's Day. Whether your babies are being loved here in your arms, in Heaven and cherished in your hearts, or in your belly and comforted with your warmth, I hope your day is everything you want it to be.

And for those of you dads that are raising your children alone, foster parents, and any other unique families, Happy Mother's Day to you as well. Your love definitely doesn't go unrecognized.

Sincerely,
Vicki
