It is said that you shouldn't correct your child's efforts when they complete a task such as a chore. It is true that it takes some learning to make a bed or clean a room to certain standards-but man my tongue is sore from biting it while I wait for that learning to take place. Obviously I correct the kids when they intentionally don't clean something like they should-like throwing everything in their closets or under their beds and then declaring their room is clean. That is actually my daughter's trick. My son just pretends he doesn't know how to do anything. But I already have one man in the house who does things incorrectly on purpose so I won't ask him to do it again, I am not going to let my son pull the same stuff on me.

So instead I bite my tongue when they honestly try to do their chores. And I enjoy the work that is done, because some of their chores are things that wouldn't have gotten done that day anyway so partially done is better than not done at all, right?

Now to work on that husband of mine....
