Cute Moon Craft to go with Moon Pie

This is an easy, fast and fun way to get your kids' creative juices going without a lot of mess or stress!

Here's what you need:

  • Paper plate
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Marker/crayon
  • Googly eye (optional)
  • Glitter, sequins or other embellishments (optional)

Directions:

Carefully draw a silhouette of a crescent moon's face (see photo) and cut along the line. Have your child glue a googly eye or draw one on. Color in a sleeping cap, or glue on a fabric scrap to create one. Add glittler glue or sequins ...

Ice Cream in a Bag

You will need:

  • 1 quart-sized zipper bag (Ziploc style)
  • 1 gallon-sized zipper bag
  • 1/2-cup milk or half & half (I prefer half & half)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • Ice cubes
  • 6 tablespoons rock salt
  • Sprinkles, syrup, or other embellishments, if desired

What you'll do:

Pour the milk, sugar, and vanilla into the smaller zipper bag, and seal it. Fill the larger bag half-way full of ice, and add the rock salt. Place the smaller bag (still sealed) into the larger bag, and seal the larger bag. Shake ...
